Reader Account Features

Any reader which has been provided with a password or pin within the Reader Manager dialog is able to log into the OPAC by clicking the green [Login] toolbar icon.

For general searching and browsing of the catalogue the reader does not need to login, however once a reader has authenticated themselves with the OPAC, several additional features become available.

My Borrowing My Borrowing
The [My Borrower] menu option not only allows the reader to see what they currently have on loan, but also to see the history of items which they have had in the past.

Any books which are currently on-loan and overdue, or were overdue when they were returned if an historical loan, are clearly marked.

Items in the list can be clicked and browsed in the normal way.

My Reservations My Reservations
The [My Reservations]] menu option allows the reader to see which items they currently have reserved, as well as their status (i.e. is the reservation now available?)

Issue and Return Issue and Return
The [Issue and Return] menu option allows suitably authorised readers and managers to access the Circulations functions from the main OPAC screen. For conventional readers, this would normally mean that they are trusted pupil assistants.

Access to the Restrictions lists below the Item and Reader barcode fields however, are still restricted to a specific authorisation setting which can be found in the User Manager. Without this permission, any refusal to circulate which required managerial authorisation will additionally require a manager to temporarily enter their login details as confirmation.

Circulation History Circulations History
Within the [Issue and Return] areas, any authorised reader can select the [?] button next to the Item or Reader fields to display a history of circulations of that item/reader.
