Mystic is an online application running in the cloud.
As a result, 'starting Mystic' effectively involves an end-user navigating the Mystic application website at:
Doing so displays the standard authentication login form which requires an end-user to enter their:
Note, that is also possible to enter the unique library number or short-cut word in the username field in the similar way to email address format, so logging in as:
harry
mypassword
edukus
could be entered as:
harry@edukus
mypassword
If it is intended to create a permanent link to the Mystic application on a secure workstation, such as creating a desktop-icon on a school library workstation, it is possible to pre-select the library number and remove the library field from the desktop. This is done by explicitly specifying the code in the URL being used in the shortcut:
https://www.pergamonmystic.co.uk/cgi-bin/mystic.cgi?l=999
Note here, that 'l' is the lower-case 'L' (Lima).
In this way, it is possible to provide terminals to staff users and readers without the need to remember a code or shortcut-word.
