====== Quickstart Guide ======

This is the Pergamon Quickstart Guide. It is designed to be followed as a set of instructions, teaching the user the very basic usage of the Pergamon application through the process of:

  * Creating a new every-day use user account
  * Configuring some settings required for every day use
  * Creating a new reader
  * Creating a new catalogue item
  * Circulating the item
  * Creating a reader assistant based upon the previous reader account
  * Running a report based upon the reader, item and circulation

The Quickstart Guide requires a finished and working Pergamon installation but does not assume any particular release of Pergamon or the state of the installed database (i.e. a new installation, a pre-licensed, or a database conversion). As a result, some actions will not be necessary as they have already been completed, but it is useful to follow through the actions for educational purposes.

{{:pergamonmu:info048.png?nolink |Information}}The Pergamon Quickstart guide is designed for use with all versions of the Desktop Pergamon application (at time of writing, Mu and Rho). As such, while each section can be followed by all users, some text will be necessarily absent of details.

This should not cause issues however, as relevant sections will normally only refer simple operations such as completing available on-screen fields and similar, and should not normally need specific detailed discussion.
