This facility is available from v1.0.96 onwards.

The Duplicate Items toolbar icon allows you to duplicate an existing item in the database.

In order to duplicate an item:

1. Select an item in the left-hand list
   
   
2. Select the [Duplicate] toolbar icon to display the options
   
   
3. If you have selected an item, an option is present to duplicate this item
   
   
4. If you have previously created or duplicated an item previously in the current Item Manager session, an option is provided to duplicate the last created item instead.
   
   
5. Select the preferred option to duplicate the item and make it available for editing.

Notes:

• The Duplicate Item facility copies both Core and Unique components of the record into a totally new pair. If you wish to simply create a second copy of an existing core record, use the create another copy item method instead.
  
  
• If you have Pregenerate Barcodes turned on, the new item will have the next new barcode in the sequence.
  
  
• If you do not have pregenerate barcodes turned on, the new item will possess the same barcode as the original item, suffixed with a date/time stamp marking it as a copy. You should edit the item with a new barcode as soon as possible.
  
  

MU Users
Pergamon MU has Unique and Core records merged into a single perceived on screen, and is managed automatically for you. As such, creation if second copies and duplication has similar results - use whichever method is most suitable to your local needs.
