+The **[Synch]** toolbar icon in the **[HUB]** toolbar group resides on the Catalogue **[Tools]** toolbar tab.
+By clicking the **[Synch]** toolbar icon, the catalogue items manager searches the linked HUB Bibliographic database to find the item by its unique serial number.
+If the item is found in the HUB, the internal unique reference to that record in the HUB is copies into the local Item record for future reference and planned functionality which allows the synchronisation of data (e.g. indexing methods) with the central HUB record.
+Note that use of the Catalogue Item Manager **[Synch]** toolbar icon is rare - a global synchronisation process can be performed which synchronises all records automatically.
