Catalogue: Deleting the Trash (Purge Bin)
As long as the [Purge] option is selected in the [ Options ] toolbar tab, any items that are removed from the catalogue will be deactivated and then placed into the purge bin rather than being deleted permanently from the database. The Purge Bin is a specific virtual storage location (i.e. in reality, it could be anywhere from a warehouse to a box under the desk) defined in the Item Locations category of the lookup manager.
Eventually however, you may decide that all items in the Purge Bin are no longer required and that there is no further chances that they will need to be recovered (by simply setting the physical storage location back to a valid location, such as Library, and possibly reactivating the item).
In order to delete all items that are in the Purge Bin in one go, switch to the [Tools] toolbar tab and click the [Delete] toolbar icon in the [Trash] toolbar group.
Note that once permanently deleted from the purge bin, the items can no longer be recovered.
