Editing a Text Area
The Text Area editor is provided to allow you to edit larger amounts of text which are normally connected to records, such as shorter, single-line data fields. They are most commonly used to edit JavaScript and Lua scripts which aid in the import of reader and catalogue item data, and to create larger text attachments to readers and catalogue items.
In most ways, the text area provided allows the entry of conventional plain-text in the same way as a normal text field, but also allows the entry of newline-carriage returns to place text on multiple lines as well as the ability to edit large text areas in a more convenient and easy-to-view manner.
While not an inherent function of the Text Area control, text areas are also useful to the creation of texts which include the MarkDown language. This language can be used to format text in a more visual manner for use in HTML and reports.
Once you have edited your text, use the [Save] button to return the text to the calling function.
