The Item Category additional fields module provide a single plain-text notes field which can be used to enter a description or notes entry for the category item.

For the Dewey classification, it is not recommended that libraries spend time completing these descriptions generally due to the huge number of entries possible. However, the use of local classification systems or those advised by Education services may justify the time required.
