Lookup Manager: Splitting Items
Occasionally there is a need to add additional Lookup items to records where previously only one was attached. This may be caused by a decision to split a single Keyword for example, into two or more different keywords. The same may also be true of other specialist items however, such as Audiences.
The easiest way to do this, rather than manually seeking out each occurrence and performing the error prone action of adding additional values, is to use the Lookup Manager Split facility.
This facility allows a suitably authorised staff user to select an item in the Lookup Manager and then split it into two or more values, some of which can then me modified to (at the least) reflect a new plain-text value. Mystic also performs the correct tidy-up at the same time, ensuring that all locations where the original item was attached also has the new items as attachments as well.
Splitting An Item
In order to split an item, select the item from the left-hand list. Splitting items is usually performed for items in Indexing type categories - splitting an item from the Popup type, which is usually attached to another record only once, results in only the last created item remaining attached.
Once selected, click the [Split] toolbar icon from the [Tools] toolbar tab to display the Split dialog (you will be asked for confirmation that you wish to continue).
