Readership: Contact Card

The Contact Card dialog represents the simplest of the two reader contacts systems in use with Mystic. The Contact Card system is the default system available to most library users, including educational and community libraries.

The Contact Card system can be accessed by selecting a Reader from the Reader Manager dialog and then clicking the [Edit] toolbar icon in the [Contacts] toolbar group of the [Tools] tab.

The dialog contains a simple set of fields representing the most common forms of communication that are possible with the reader, externally to the organisation itself (e.g. for schools, such as the Reader Group representing their classroom environment).

Edit the fields as required, then click the [Save] command button to save the details into the reader record.


EMailing a Reader

In order to email a reader, at the very least the [EMail] field of the contact card must be completed with a valid email address.

While it is the discretion of the library, it is advised for school environments that the student's school email address is utilised in this field so that the reader can access information emails (e.g. of overdue items) from their in-school accounts.
